Spring 2017 undergraduate research projects in the group

After investigating carrier dynamics in graphene-based heterostructures last semester, Litao Zhao (MSE) and Steven Claybrook (Physics) turn their attention to ultra-thin metals as potential high-performance high-carrier-density optical materials. In particular, they are investigating suitable substrates for stabilizing ultra-thin metal layers while preserving their optical properties.

Yumeng Yue, a senior from Materials Science and Engineering, joins the group to work on battery electrode materials that mitigate dendrite formation, by optimizing ion diffusion at electrode surfaces.
